CCC Fund-raising Update 12.04.11

OKC First is reaching our community! Taking a look at all the reports on Outposts, on ESL classes, and on the after-school Hope Academy, one should quickly see that we are impacting people in our neighborhood more meaningfully than ever before. Once it is fully operational, the Cole Community Center will give us not only a new tool to build up our fellowship with one another, but also help to bring an increased level of hope to the neighborhood.

With the first phase of building complete, the building committee and funding committee now focus on the plan to finish the building to make it usable for the next phase of our church’s ministry. We thank the Lord for every family and individual who has already made a building pledge. Thankfully those pledge gifts are still coming in, and this is the foundation of success for this project!

Beyond our initial giving, an additional $1.5 million is still needed to completely open the building and put it to work in ministry. The funding committee is working now on a completion plan, even while identifying sources of additional lead gifts to get the project fully on a fast track. Please pray for the successful work of the funding committee. (If you have an interest in serving on this task force, contact the church office or John Martin). We will keep you informed along the way, especially as we reach milestones that should be celebrated. Thank you for your belief in ministry, for your faithfulness to OKC First, and for your support of this worthy tool God is placing in our hands. Let’s lean into 2012, as we trust God to complete this work He has begun so it can be used for His glory.

Fund-raising for the Whole Family!
Fund-raising for the Whole Family!

The Memorial Marathon is coming up on April 29, 2012. If you are planning on running, walking or cheering, consider taking pledges to help us raise money for the Cole Community Center. It’s not too late to start training in a variety of race events. We will provide the pledge letter for you, you do the training! This is something the whole family can be involved in as a fund-raisng effort. We will have a meeting on Jan. 11 at 6:00pm in room 5 to gather your addresses, help with your training schedule and set our financial goal! Please contact Jeffrey Johnson for more information at jeffreythomasjohnson@gmail.com.
